Heart To Heart Cleanup Day 2

Hanging out in the shop on a cold winters day as it gets socked in? I don’t think so, never owned a metal building in my life and neither did granddaddy, they look nice but all that glitters ain’t gold, besides I need my wide open space and fresh air, maybe one day in old age. Saw running great, trip to John Deer dealer, Stihl brush wacker spending a few days, needs new carb, big props to Justice, Mr. Jimmy, Heather, and the gang there, thank you! New mower for the 2020 season?? Maybe! Yes, Mr. Jimmy, careful with the saw…sure appreciate the reminder…

South side of Heart To Heart Animal Sanctuary before, mostly just saplings, a few larger ones, with enough chain and a tractor we could pull them out a few at a time but currently no tractors are running, hopefully soon. Should bring mule over here.

I hear a lot of people saying they are “busy” but I looked up the definition, one of which is “excessively decorated or fussy”, that’s enough for me to avoid the word entirely. NO, you really don’t want to see MY to do list, my incredible team and I are working on rehabbing 14 structures (not including 5 grain bins), opening up a 60 acre frontier adventure tour theme park, and starting this much needed animal rescue sanctuary. I also run a consulting business and do property management, I never feel “busy”, we just work, one task or project at a time, simple. Covey says its easy to be busy and accomplish nothing, I agree…

Quite a few trees cut, nice progress, difficult to walk around, more saws and some lopping sheers would be good. Do you own or work for a supply company?? If so, why not donate some fencing, we will need to keep the Coyotes out, and our furry clients in where they are safe, how about 6 feet tall, and maybe 15,000 feet long, or so…please throw in 10 gates. The sanctuary is not a 501C3 yet, but it might be in the future…

North side, a few larger trees came down, will be relocating those boards soon, 9 new doors will be needed on this one end alone. Yes, you can make money sitting at a computer, is it good for your body, you be the judge, physical labor nourishes the soul, and helps us sleep at night…

Now we can see more of the structure, everything has been cut around the foundation, and 12 feet out but some BIG ones are hanging over it on the west side, will require a bucket truck or someone to climb them and take them down in pieces.

Wide angel showing one of the corn cribs, why not come on out and volunteer for the day, it will help relieve you of that dreaded scarcity mentality you may be suffering under. Life is about what we give, not what we get…remember, a double minded man is unstable in ALL his ways…

Another wide angel, old pig parlor on the left, Heart To Heart on the right, a great big mess, one hour and one load at a time, we are getting there!!

The saws are extremely dangerous, Mr. Jimmy knows what he speaks of, you cut your leg (or cut it off) out here, and you could go into shock and bleed out before you make it to the ER 10 miles away. Watch out for kicks, don’t let it bind, use the kick guard, notch them correctly, make sure there is a clear exit path.

West side, before panorama shot, some are too big and leaning too much here, will need the bucket truck or a tree climber. 5 windows will be replaced, the roof is in great shape, needs paint.

Working in: rocks, moss, stumps, stobs, limbs, vines, old wire fencing, bricks, metal, junk, scrap, mud, leaves, etc. Facing bone spur surgery in right big toe, walking is becoming increasingly difficult, pain in toe and leg, I love a good challenge, bring it!!!

Hey there!! Love my trips to Robyville and drives in the country on scenic back roads, these guys are just enjoying a nice afternoon snack…three days ago.

Come and get it!!! I suppose they are beef cows since they are not in the milk sheds…such curious gentle creatures, smart too…

So many cool critters in my life every day now, really love this guy. Mr. jack says its the electric fence that has him so jumpy, makes sense to me, but its not my fence…what a beautiful day!!

Small cut on right eye healing up nicely now, been keeping and eye on his eye, lolol, with text support from Dr. John the vet, thank you!!

The new bail Robyville sent over, thank you Mr. Lee, Eli, Chris, and Adam…much appreciated, this one is tarped and will get us through the winter.

Schwarzkopf really likes it when we make him a fresh bed to lay on, have you ever tried eating your bedding, well he does and it seems to hit the spot, see image below.

He loves his bucket of food but we watch for foundering very closely. He is usually hungry again after 4 to 6 days, especially in winter, in the summer we back off some, today he was distressed and begging a little. Its about time for a vet visit…

He eats a lot of hay, and seems to regulate his diet on his own really well. I was actually surprised how much he ate in a few days but it has been cold and wet…

Mud, love it, nuff said….

Granny’s favorite flowers, spring is right around the corner now…

Look at those!! Wow!! Nice machinery…could use another one…

If you have to ask how much, then these are out of your budget, lolol, talk about gettin er done, this would help a lot. Mowing and grooming will be extremely important for our guests…

I didn’t know John Deer made sports cars….wow…neat!!

TSC has the baby chicks and ducklings in, until the end of April, but you HAVE to buy 6 at a time (or minimum), according to Kentucky state law, or so I was told. This year they are in a locked cage, I can’t pick them up….bummer….

Its not a really large model but she has some power….handle these with care and patience, don’t get in a hurry…

The keys stopped the saw again, need to be even more careful…

Like I said, cold, wet, muddy, snowing, 35 degrees, 15 mph winds, love every minute of it…this is the direction tornadoes come from, out in the east…

Oakville store, where Mr. Jack our magistrate holds court, lol, well not really, court is up in town, this is the office…

Railroad, dark and the outdoor work day is closing, time for food!!

Guilty as charged!! LOL!! Sweet Macey, the whereabouts of Lacey are currently unknown to us but we have a feeling she is still around somewhere, hopefully. Country dogs are so relaxed and fun to play with, gentle and neighborly, when I told her to go home she literally put her big floppy head on the ground looking up at me, so I told her to come back and hang out for a while. Apparently, recently, she got a spray from a skunk but seems to be taking it on the chin. We sure appreciate everyone stopping by the site again, tell a friend, and please consider volunteering!!! Heart To Heart Animal Sanctuary will be taking in critters soon, and goats are on the horizon!!! Who has a camel they want to give away, and a donkey to stand watch for Coyotes??
